Following the establishment of Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd, a Patient Participation Group has been set up to act as a link between patients and the local management team.

Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd was created in September 2020 when Cricieth Health Centre and Meddygcare Porthmadog merged under the management of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The newly formed Patient Participation Group is a cross-section of patients who reflect the diversity of the residents in both locations. Some also have professional experiences in relevant fields.

They are:

Mr Selwyn Griffiths, Porthmadog (Representing the older generation in Eifionydd)
Mrs Ceri Roberts, Cartrefi Gofal Cariad Care Homes (Representing Care and Nursing homes in the area)
Miss Llio Williams, Llanystumdwy (Social Worker)
Mrs Esyllt Williams, Garndolbenmaen (Head, Ysgol Gynradd Beddgelert)
Mrs Bethan Price, Criccieth (Communications Consultant)
Dr. Darren Cornish, Clinical Lead GP (HIE)
Mrs Carys Greer, Practice Manager (HIE)
Mrs Sioned Thomas, Health Service Manager (HIE)

The main purpose of the Patient Participation Group is to facilitate good relations between the GP practice and their patients, and to share patients’ experiences thereby improving communication and engagement. They will also work positively and collaboratively with the practice to improve services and to act as a sounding board for staff on issues affecting patients.
