Subject: Long-standing unresolved matters requiring a response from Cyngor Gwynedd

Dear Chief Executive and Leader,

The Town Council is grateful to Cyngor Gwynedd for a number of positive developments in the town. Thank you for the resurfacing work carried out during March. Everything proceeded smoothly and on time, including the work itself, the preparation, and the communication with residents and businesses. We also greatly appreciate the redesign of Y Maes and the collaboration with the Town Council on the scheme. There has been very positive feedback on the work, which has transformed the space, with the Town Council contributing benches. It would be good to arrange an official opening event with Cyngor Gwynedd on Y Maes to acknowledge the work.

We have also benefited from several grants administered by Cyngor Gwynedd over the past year – Gwynedd Ni Fund, Diwyllesiant and the Gwynedd Nature Partnership – and we are grateful for this investment, which supports our Community Plan. Thank you also for agreeing to new investment at Ty’n Rhos Play Area, which will benefit from a new swing and climbing frame for children in the vicinity.

However, Criccieth Town Council wishes to express formal concern regarding the significant number of matters that have been awaiting a response or resolution for a long period, in some cases for years, despite repeated requests for updates and the efforts of our County Councillor. Members feel strongly that this situation is no longer acceptable, particularly where the issues relate to public safety, accessibility, essential infrastructure or statutory responsibilities.
